MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT:

  • REAR END COLLISION WITH NECK INJURIES 48-year-old woman struck from the rear while operating a motor vehicle, sustained injuries to the muscles of the neck, shoulders, and low back without disk injuries requiring treatment with a medical doctor and physical therapy for 90 days for continuing low back pain on a daily basis. Resolved with a jury verdict for client at the conclusion of four day trial.

  • REAR END COLLISION WITH NECK AND MID BACK INJURIES 36-year-old woman struck from the rear while operating a motor vehicle, badly fractured vertebrae and ruptured disks in the neck and mid back, requiring non-surgical treatment with medical doctors and physical therapy for life with disabling daily back pain. Resolved with a jury verdict for client at conclusion of five day trial.

  • 30-YEAR-OLD WOMAN WITH KNEE INJURY IN HEAD-ON COLLISION - LIMITED TORT A woman struck knees on dash when a car coming the opposite direction crossed the center line, resulting in contusion to knee caps and tissues and ligaments of the knee with torn ACL, undiagnosed for two years and treated with physical therapy and epidural injections. Resolved with a jury verdict for client at the conclusion of three days of trial.

  • FALL FROM VAN WITH SEVERED SPINAL CORD High school student falls out of door of a van moving through a parking lot and her low back is run over by the rear wheels of the van, resulting in paraplegia in legs and pelvis. Settled before trial.

    WRONGFUL DEATH:

    • DECAPITATION OF DRIVER ON PROM NIGHT 18-year-old foreign exchange student was a rear-seat passenger in an automobile when the driver failed to negotiate a curve on a country road and struck a tree, beheading the driver and leaving passenger with broken neck. The case was settled before trial.

    • GRANDMOTHER KILLED WHEN TRUCK IGNORED STOP SIGN A 53-year-old grandmother, who was unemployed and on disability, was killed when truck ignored a traffic sign and pulled in front of her vehicle immediately before impact, resulting in death of the client while in ambulance on the way to hospital. A settlement was reached before trial.

    • DEATH DUE TO BURNS AT ACCIDENT SCENE 25-year-old father of three girls, all under the age of four, died in a fire at an accident scene when he was pinned alive in the cab of his truck by another truck coming in the opposite direction, which crossed the center line of the roadway, resulting in head-on collision. The case was settled immediately prior to trial.

    PRODUCTS LIABILITY:

    • NAIL SALON IN MALL USED BANNED ARTIFICIAL NAIL SOLUTION A woman had artificial nail tips applied and filled on a monthly basis at a store front nail salon in mall and technicians used a banned substance to fill and install nail tips, resulting in the permanent loss of all fingernails and damage to all nail beds. The case was settled immediately prior to jury rendering verdict for client after four days of trial.

    MEDICAL MALPRACTICE:

    • ABANDONMENT OF PATIENT DURING DELIVERY RESULTING IN BRAIN DAMAGE TO CHILD AT DELIVERY Mother presented at the hospital with her unborn child in breech position and suffering from irregular heart rate, when her physician failed or refused to come to the hospital until the child was in distress and suffered from loss of oxygen, causing brain injury, discovered approximately two years after birth. The case was resolved by settlement prior to trial.

    • SPONGE LEFT IN CHEST DURING SURGERY Client had surgery to implant a pacemaker, when a sponge was left in the chest and remained undiscovered despite a deficient sponge count after surgery and continued discharge at incision site for 30 days after surgery and immediately prior to pacemaker replacement at another hospital where the sponge was found wrapped around the previously installed pacemaker. Resolved by settlement before trial.

    • ELDERLY PATIENT FALLS FROM BED IN HOSPITAL AND DIES FROM INJURIES An elderly patient, suffering from Alzheimer's, who was hospitalized and unrestrained, fell while getting out of bed, resulting in a broken shoulder and internal injuries, causing her to die three days later. Action filed against the hospital settled prior to trial.
