Throughout the counties of Westmoreland, Fayette, Somerset and Allegheny, the firm focuses on providing services to both individuals and corporations, requiring experienced counsel to meet existing and emerging needs specific to the client in matters involving injuries to persons, business structure, commercial law, estate planning and administration and real estate matters.

With respect to those injured at work and on the highways, special effort is given to securing continuation of wage income and payment of medical expenses, being problems created with passage of laws which limit the length of time for payment of compensation benefits for work injuries and the right to recover for injuries in automobile collisions. The firm's litigation emphasis has made its attorneys comfortable with cases having potential limitations on the right to recover for pain and suffering caused by non-serious injuries, where insurance with the limited tort election applies. In work injury cases, Mr. King and Ms. Guiddy regularly handle claims for new injuries, petitions to expand the definition of a long term injury that increases to include other ailments, penalties for employer's refusal to pay wage loss and medical expenses after medical examinations requested by the employer, injuries incident to Child Labor Law violations and lump sum cash settlements of existing claims.

With new laws allowing businesses to operate within more flexible cost and tax saving structures, the firm has taken the lead in providing counsel to professional, non-profit and for-profit corporations, limited liability companies, joint ventures and partnerships to bring about less expensive and structured business organization and operations. Given the fluid landscape of business, the firm recognizes the range required to meet the needs of the business client whether in the boardroom or the courtroom. From start up to dissolution, Mr. King and Ms. Guiddy give particular attention to organizational and annual documents, contract negotiations, tax planning, pension and employment benefit issues, real estate needs and commercial litigation.

Real estate development and planning incident to a business practice has led to significant experience in the litigation of real estate issues, perfection of title and assistance in the financing of business as well as residential transactions.

The practice is also focused on estate planning. This facet of the practice requires experience and knowledge of the probate process and the development and use of the appropriate planning vehicles, including wills and trusts. Knowledge of probate administration and involvement in litigation in other areas of the law has allowed the firm to regularly offer services in defense and contest of wills and other documents providing for distribution of a decedent's assets.

Mr. King and Ms. Guiddy share a devotion to civil litigation, business transactions and probate matters. Their combined experience allows them to practice in all Pennsylvania courts from the magistrate through the appellate levels and give special focus on matters arising in Westmoreland, Fayette, Somerset and Allegheny counties. To serve the clients, we maintain an office in downtown Greensburg, Pennsylvania and on Route 31, three (3) miles east of Exit 9 on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, in Donegal, Pennsylvania.

Depending upon the case, the firm normally offers clients alternatives of engaging our services on a contingent, flat rate or hourly basis, with plaintiffs' injury cases principally charged on a contingent or hourly basis as selected by the client. We customarily provide an advanced estimate of the amount of time any given service will require.
